A Messy Lunch

Today's lunch began with a little pre-meal entertainment provided by our very own Ellie Maron.

The special of the day at "Mama's Kitchen" was raviolis.

Evidently Ellie has inherited her father's need for everything to be symmetrical. You can see here that she is rubbing ravioli on her legs. Since there was ravioli on her face she decided to even it out and rub it on the rest of her body. Mama was so proud.

Cute As Can Be

Today after church we ate at the University Club for lunch. When we were leaving I spotted this cluster of yellow flowers and thought that it would make for an adorable piture. Seeing those two little cuties standing there was the highlight of my week. It's been a rough week, but we are just trusting God to show us what he has for us. So keep praying! We love you all. I couldn't decide which piture to post so I posted them all. Enjoy!

Learning To Share

As of recent sharing has been a major issue at the Moore house. We are learming to share and take turns without pushing or hitting. It's a continual work in progress. As you can see even Gilbert is learning to share.

Nap Time

Now that Jackson is a year old we are trying to eliminate his morning nap so he naps only in the afternoon. A couple of days ago I was feeding the kids lunch and it had been a while since I had heard Jackson squeal, signifying that he needed more food. When I looked over at him the little guy was sound asleep. When I walked over to him, I got so tickeled because he was still holding a piece of his grill chesse snadwich in his right hand. He was holding it so tightly that the cheese was seeping up between his fingers. I cleaned him off and put him in bed. He never woke up.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day. My special day was great. It started with a little surprise left in our yard by our youth group. They toilet papered our yard. I took Ellie outside to see it when she woke up. This was not a good idea. She was devastated. She kept saying "no mommy no." From there the day did get better. We went to church, ate lunch with Aunt Gail, Uncle Bob, and Devin, took a very long nap, went for a very long walk that evening and even played at a playground for a while. Scoot and the kids gave some beautiful gerber daisies and a gift card to Victoria's Secret. I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day too.

Breakfast And A Movie

For breakfast this morning I made choclate chip muffins and bacon. We ate our breakfast while watching a movie. As you can see by the chocolate on Jackson's face, he really liked his muffin.

Girls Night Out

The youth had a fund raiser to raise money for Youth Camp. So, I got a babysitter for Jackson and Ellie and I went to Dessert Theater. On the way there we stopped and got some gerber daisies (Mamas favorite flowers) for Aunt Gail, because she was the director of the whole show. Ellie looked absolutely adorable walking in, wearing her white dress , hair braided in pig tails and carrying the pink flowers for Aunt Gail. We sat on the very front row at a table with Cameron (Devin's girlfriend) and her mom. Ellie danced and clapped and even raised her hands. Ellie was the star of my show. Girls Night out was a lot of fun.

Splish Splash

After dinner tonight I got the kids pool out of storage and filled it with water. Ellie jumped right in.

Jackson was a little hesitant, but he loved watcing his big sister play.

He really liked it when she would splash him.

The fun really began when he discovered that he could use his golf club to splash her back.

Then Dada got the hose out and chased everyone around the yard. The Moore's had fun running around the yard being silly.

Happy 2nd Birthday Ellie

Today is Ellie Maron's second birthday. Two years have gone by so fast, but on the hand she seems like she has always been a part of me. I can't imagine my life without her. She brings us so much joy. We love our little Ellie. Let's take a look back over the past two years.

Two years Ago today

Today

Since Scott was not going to be home today we had a little party for Ellie last night. We sang Happy Birthday and then she blew out her candles or more approproately stated spit them out.

When she was done blowing out the candles I walked away to get a knife, Scott continued to take pictures, while Ellie acted like a cat meowing and licking her cake. The guests were so impressed.

A Special Snack

For about a week now Ellie has been eating a bowl of popcorn before she goes to bed. We call it her special snack. Since we started this routine there has not been one night that she has not asked for her special snack (sounds more like "becial nak"). When we ask her what she wants for snack she yells "popcorn." So every night we go to the pantry get a bag of popcorn and Ellie helps make the special snack. We all sit on the couch together and eat the popcorn. Yes all of us!

Ellie really enjoys her snack. Jackson however, eats like it is his job. So his bowl is usually empty before his sisters.

Occassionally he will sneak a few pieces from her bowl. This does not go unnoticed.

In the end though, Ellie does share her snack with her little brother.

Tag Your It

Over the last couple of days Scott and I have really enjoyed watching Ellie and Jackson play together in the backyard. In the last week, Jackson has really begun to explore and play with his outside toys more than he ever has. One of their favorite things to do is chase each other, or rather Ellie chases and Jackson runs. I loved these pictures because you can really see in their little faces how much fun they are having. If only pictures had sound, you could hear all the giggles, squeals, and screams too.

A Cat Named Gilbert

Last spring we added two members to the Moore Family, a little boy named Jackson and a cat named...well we called the cat kitty. That is until last week. Last week Ellie named the cat Gilbert. I was standing in the kitchen and she was calling for the cat to "come on Gilbert." She loves to pick Gilbert up and carry her to her room and closes the door. Once in her room the cat will climb up in the chair and lay down.

I often wonder why that silly cat has stuck around all this time. And then there a moments like today, when Ellie dumps all the cat treats on the floor. It is in those moments that I realize that she probably is a pretty smart cat after all.

Welcome To My Home

Yesterday was a very hot day! The kids and I played outsdie in the morning before lunch. After we had been outside for a little while Ellie grabbed Jackson by the hand and said "come on." She took him over to her playhouse and invited him to come in. They had fun playing in the house together. This was the first time that Jackson had been invited to Ellie's house.

Later Jackson wandered off to pick some flowers.

Once Upon A Time...

Once upon a time, in a kingdom not so far a way, there lived a fair maiden named Princess Ellie and her loyal subject Jackson. One day the townspeople (Mama and Dada) decided to throw a party in honor of the Princess and her loyal subject. Everyone had a wonderful time. At the party the Princess received a new gown and some fancy shoes and her loyal subject got a sturdy set of golf clubs. After the party the Princess made a royal decree that everyday she HAD to wear her new garmets and shoes and Jackson HAD to carry his golf clubs around all the time. As you can see they both are in compliance with the decree. And they all lived happily ever after.
