Our Family Beach Vacation

Alright all you bloggers, settle in this is a long post with a lot of pictures. We had a wonderful vacation this past week in Myrtle Beach, SC. We played in the sand, swam in the pool, ate a lot of ice cream, rode the golf cart, fed the ducks, built a bear, and visited with my brother who was home from Afganistan and his precious baby boy who was born on Wednesday.

Kellan Rece Love was born on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at 6:02 PM. He weighed 7.5 lbs. and was 20 inches long.

After visiting Kellen in the hospital we spent a few hours walking around Charleston, SC and, of course, playing in the fountain.

Ready for Vacation

On Sunday afternoon the Moore's are packing up and heading to Myrtle Beach for some much needed R and R. For a month now Ellie has been asking to go to the beach (at least that's what we think she is saying, otherwise she is calling me a very dirty name). We are very excited and can't wait to get this vacation started.

One very imortamt fact about this vacation is that we plan to leave all the pacifiers in SC. At the begining of the week we will be having a little goodbye paci party and then spend the rest of the week learning to live without them. We decided to do this while on vacation, because everything is better at the beach.

Roll Tide

For those of you who are not from Alabama, let me give you a quick peek into the Bama culture. In Alabama children are taught to say roll tide before they are taught their ABC's. This is not a joke, but sadly the truth. "Roll Tide" is an accepted salutation to which you respond "Roll Tide". And perhaps the sadest thing is that if your child attends FWC the painted picture of Jesus may have your child in tears due to fright, but your children will cry because they want to see Big Al the Alabama mascot.

Yes, from an early age children in AL are taught an appreciation for the Crimson Tide. And since the Moore children have a father who is a sports fanatic, they too have become subject to such an upbringing. Every home game we take the children to quad to tailgate befor the games. As you can see they have adapted well to this cultural phenom. We all have a great time!

Ok, so maybe not all the Moore's are crazy about Alabama football. The only thing Jack is crazy about these days is his matchbox cars. He only has two, but one of them is always in his hand. At nap and at night I have to take these cars from him, and of course he screams and pitches a fit. His teacher says that he even keeps a car in his hand at school.

We finished up our day on the quad with a crimson bath and a few cheers in the tub. Roll Tide!!!

We Love NY

Ok, everyone! Well, we have a very good reason for the long break with no new posts...VACATION! This past weekend The Moore's took a little trip to Buffalo to see our wonderful friends the Minunni's and the Eustice's. Ben Gerhardt even flew in from Birmingham so that we could all be together. I took a lot of pictures and everyone complained. My quote for the weekend was "someday you all will appreciate me documenting our time together." The time is now! Hope you all enjoy the photos. We love and miss you!
