C is for Cookie

From birth, the Moore kids have always had healthy appetites and there are very few foods that they dislike. But when Jackson ate his first sugar cookie, it was love at first taste.

From the looks of those thighs they need to lay off the cookies and hit the gym.

Shall We Dance

It' no secret that the Moore family loves reality TV shows. One of our favorites is "You're The One That I Want," the search for the next stars of the Broadway musical "Grease." On the show they sing and dance, but my kids thought they could do better. So, Ellie decided that she would grab a partner and do a little dancing herself. The Moore kids may not be as talented as the professionals, but they are definetly cuter.

Uncle Bubba

Today, my precious daughter will hold a marker in her little hand. Today she will just doodle, but someday she will learn to write. What she will write…well, that is completely up to her.

Today, my son will try to stand. His little feet can’t walk yet, but soon he will learn to run. And those feet will take him anywhere he chooses to go.

Tonight, my daughter will fold her little hands to say her prayers. We pray “God bless Uncle Bubba.”

Tonight, I will walk my son to his room and lay him in his crib. As I walk out of the room, I know he is safe.

This week your hands will pack your bags to go off to war. Soon, your feet will walk on foreign soil. In those hands, you’ll carry a weapon and with your hands and feet you’ll fight to protect the little hands and feet of my children.

I know that you think that what you are doing is no big deal. But to me it means everything. So with my hand, I write thank you.

We love you.

Jackson - 9 months

This morning I took Jackson for his 9 month check up. I can't believe it. He is getting so big. He is 29 1/4 inches long and weighs 22.6 lbs. He's a big, healthy boy. He is growing up so fast. This week he has started waving bye bye. It is adorable. I love watching him learn new things. It makes me sad to watch my baby disappear, but I do love watching this little boy learn and grow.

Jack In The Box (And Ellie)

We played very hard today. In fact, I think that we played with every toy we own. We emptied both of the toy boxes and moved them into the center of the room out of the way. The problem with this picture is that I have no idea how Jack got in the box.

These pictures may be fuzzy, but I loved watching them hug and kiss each other. Jackson got his kisses.

And then, it was Ellie's turn.

The Princess and The Cheesecake

Just before Christmas, we bought Ellie a princesss gown to wear to a birthday party. The last couple of days the only thing she has wanted to wear is that dress. Here are some pictures, taken before Christmas, of our little princess.

Tonight, we had compnay for dinner and one of them brought cheescake for dessert. I sat down on the floor to eat my piece and it wasn't long before I was surrounded by little vultures just dieing to get a taste. I picked Jackson up and Ellie took my fork and helped herself. I realized that it was useless to even try to get it back. So I let her eat what she wanted. She ate about 3/4 of it. Jackson however, couldn't get enough. He just kept eating, and eating, and eating. Finally I just had to take it away from him. He cried harder than I had ever heard him cry. Look at those cheeks. I don't think he needs it.

Little Mommy

Today I realized that I have a little competition. It appears as though a certain someone is willing and able to take over my job as "The Mama". Recently, Jackson has been pullling up on everything. His latest accomplishment is pulling up on the blinds to the back door, holding on to the blinds and shaking them, and himself, as hard as he can. Of course that is a "no no", which we repeatedly tell him. On Friday, I captured these photos of the little Mommy correcting and disciplining her brother. Let's critique her technique.

Here she is telling him "no no that is dangerous".

He continues and she tells him "Look at me. I said no no".

He persists and the third time she attempts to pop him on the hand.

A Toddler, A Baby, A Popsicle

As you all know we have been potty training at the Moore house. We have a little ritual that when Ellie has a success we sing a silly song and do a crazy dance that we like to call "The Potty Line". After the potty line she gets a popsicle as a prize. Today we choose orange.

While she was eating her prize I decided I would sneek away to start the laundry. That proved to be a really bad idea. Half of the popsicle had fallen out of the wrapper and Ellie was eating her half. Jackson had confiscated the other half and was trying desperately to get some out of the package. When he finally got a little taste...well the pictures say it all.

Jackson's Makeover

This morning as I was getting ready, the kids were playing on the bathroom floor. They were both laying on the floor just jibber jabbering to one another. I got the camera out in hopes of capturing this precious moment. As I snapped the picture I noticed something white on Jackson's face. I wiped it off and continued getting ready. A few minutes later the white stuff was back on his face, but this time I new how it had gotten there. Ellie had a tube of balmex and was putting it all over his face. Jackson just kept looking at her like what are you doing. If you look closely you can see a little white stuff around his eyes.

One Crazy Day

Well, today was intersesting to say the least. By 10:30 AM Ellie had pee peed twice on the living room floor. During the clean up efforts Jackson was MIA. When we found him he was face first in a bowl of his sister's snack. I called his name, and he raised his head slowly with a very satisified grin on his face. His mouth was covered in crumbs and their were still a few goldfish that had managed to survive the attack stuck to his fat little cheeks. Due to the chaos of the day we had very little time to clean up, as you can see. How can two little people make such a big mess.

Oh-oh! Look at this mess!

What mess?

I'm just kidding.

Hopefully tomorrow will go a little smoother. However, one good thing did happen today. Jackson said his first word, mama!!!

Post Christmas Wrap Up

We had a wonderfull Christmas. Christmas morning was so much fun watching Ellie enjoy opening and playing with her gifts, while Jackson ate his share of wrapping paper. On the 27, we packed up the kids and headed to Gaitlinburg for a few days with Amber's family. Oh, what fun!

As you can see we were all quite exhausted from all the fun and festivities. We have spent the last couple of weeks simply trying to recover from the holidays. It has taken us this long to clean up the mess and get back on schedule.

And now that things are back to normal we are tackeling potty training. We will be sure to keep you updated.

Cheese!!!

For the Grandaparents

Alright, I've decided to take a new approach to communication. Since it has become fairly obvious that I am not very good at sending pictures of my children and am...well, let's just say behind on my correspondence, I have decided that every couple of days I will post a picture and a description of what has been happening in our lives. This is primarily for the grandparents, because I can't imagine who else would care what new word we learned, who spit up, what we ate for lunch, how well we slept, how potty traing is going, ect. So hopefully, this will eliminate all those subtle and not so subtle hints to send pics.

This is also for Judy Minunni. No crying!

We love you all,
Scott, Amber, Ellie & Jackson
