The Greatest Show On Earth

Last night Scott and I took Ellie and Jackson to the circus in Birmingham. For me, the greatest show on earth was not the circus itself, but watching my children enjoy the show. No one had told me that the circus was two hours long. Needless to say that was pushing the realm of their anttention spans. However, they both seemed to really enjoy it.

Jackson's favorite part was the clowns. He laughed so hard when they first came out. It was precious.

Ellie enjoyed the dancing girl's and spent the last 30 minutes of the show trying to imitate there dance moves. This is something that the man in front of her probably could have done without.

Snow In AL?

That's right it's snowing in Alabama!!! Even though Ellie and Jackson are half Canadian, they had never seen snow before today. They enjoyed watching out the window as the flakes fell. By noon, it had stopped leaving no evidence that it had ever snowed.

My Favorite Things

And here are a few of my favorite things: cheap clothes ( I bought these sweaters for $3.00) and of course these little cuties. Every day, in a hundred different ways, I find myself amazed, amuzed, and so deeply in love with these two wonderful little creatures.

Our Favorite Things

Purple and pink
And princesses and Tink

A tow truck named Mater
And a race car named Lightning

A furry friend called Elmo
And putting on makeup

These are a few of our favorite things.

When the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I’m feeling sad; I simply remember my favorite things and then I don’t feel so bad.

Update Blog - check

By Wednesday of this past week, I had grown weary of listening to the reptitive phrases that continuously flow out of my mouth. Phrases such as "eat your breakfast or you'll have to sit in time out" or "no screaming or you'll get a spanking". These along with several other phrases sparked the idea for making charts for both of the kids. So now I can say to the kids "eat your breakfast and you will earn your sticker for your chart". Although I still have to repeat phrases I am much happier that they can be positive and not always negative.

Ellie and Jackson accomplished a few extra things that are not listed on their charts, but are worthy of noting.

1. Taste Daddy's pancakes that he made from scratch - check
Ok, so you can tell by Ellie's face what she thought about the pancakes.

Well it's the thought that counts. He tried really hard as you can see.

2. Learn to change Jackson's diaper - check
Ellie and Jackson were playing in her room (we thought), but when we went to check on them Jackson was laying on the floor and Ellie was attempting to change his diaper.

3. Build a tent - check

4. Pose for the camera - check

Jackson's BooBoo

Yesterday Jackson fell off a chair at school and hit his head on the side of a table. When we picked him up and saw his little eye I just wanted to cry. The good thing is it doesn't seem to bother him.

2007 Year In Review

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

This year Ellie Maron turned two. Our little princess loves anything pink or purple. She started school this year and has learned so many wonderful things. She learned to count in Spanish, say her colors in Spanish, spell her name, say the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag, and she has learned to sing so many cute songs.

This year Jackson learned to walk and talk. Food, Elmo and cars are a few of his favorite things. He learned early how to tease his sister and he loves to make others laugh.

For Scott and I it has been a year of tough changes. This year there have been a lot of changes in Scott's job. Doing both the youth and the young adults ministry have kept him very busy. In August, I went back to work after a year of staying at home. I enjoy my job in the dental field and I like working with kids. Over the last couple of months things have begun to calm down and we are once again enjoying life.

We are looking forward to what 2008 has to bring.
